An article published in Economic.bg illustrated the small percentage of business consumers who have actively entered the free market by choosing an electricity supplier. From October 1 all business customers connected to low voltage grid had to enter the liberalized electricity market and every company – including hair salons, cafes, shops, etc. had to choose a supplier and concluded a contract.
Based on information send by CEZ to Economics.bg only 8% of the low voltage business consumers have entered the liberalized market. CEZ explains that 3 months after the obligation came into force 92% of the business consumers are supplied by CEZ Electro Bulgaria AD by a standard contract. Only 3% have concluded a contract with different trader and 5% have chosen CEZ Electro Bulgaria AD as a supplier on the liberalized market.
The same trend shows the data provided by Energo-pro. Till 1st of October 2020 from 100 000 business consumers expected to change its supplier only 14% have entered the liberalized market during the last 3 months.
The companies that have entered the liberalized market and serviced by the distribution system operator EVN are 15.4% or around 30 000. Some of them have chosen ENV-trade to be their supplier. Around 160 000 facilities remained to be supply under the terms and conditions of the standard contract.
