According to a publication in Mediapool, Kozloduy NPP has refused to continue lawsuits filed by its previous management against four electricity traders associated with businessman Hristo Kovachki. The nuclear power plant claimed BGN 129 million due to unfulfilled electricity supply contracts. In the end, two years later and after changing the head of the NPP and the lawyers in the cases, the state-owned company accepted an agreement and even agreed to compensation of BGN 25 million, which the defendant companies demanded.
The case is about the transactions concluded at the end of 2019 on the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange for the purchase of electricity of the Kozloduy NPP from the traders “Grand Energy Distribution”, “European Trade of Energy”, “Hydro Power Utilities” and ” TPP Maritsa 3″.
