The European commission has developed an ambitious plan for supporting the investments in EU through the establishment of European fund for strategic investments (EFSI), European investment advisory hub (EIAH) and European investment project portal (EIPP).
At the moment the implementation of the European investment plan is at full speed: a significant number of projects have already been financed by European investment bank (EIB) under the European fund for strategic investments in addition from September 2015 started operation the EIAH.
Launching the EIPP is an important step towards the better functioning of the investment market, offering a single web portal enabling EU-based project promoters to reach potential investors worldwide. The website will provide transparent information about the investment opportunities in whole Europe with just a single click on the EU map.
It is expected the EIPP to start real operations during February 2016. However in December 2015 EC invited all member states to provide project proposals before the starting date of the portal. To participate in this initial stage project promoters should fill in the EIPP project form and send it to eipp-project@ec.europa.eu. The processing fee for project submissions is EUR 100 during the pre-launch phase and EUR 250 thereafter. Payment details will be sent once submissions are received.
In order to qualify, projects must be:
- Worth at least EUR 10 million
- Expected to start within three years of their submission to the EIPP
- Promoted by a public or private legal entity established in an EU Member State
- Compatible with all applicable EU and national laws
Publication of a project can be denied on legal, reputational or other grounds.
Questions regarding the initiative should be addressed to eipp-project@ec.europa.eu and the responsible authorities are expected to answer them in three working days.
