On 31.05.2018 in Inter Expo Center in Sofia was held the conference “Industry and Energy” 2018. The event was organized by the Industrial cluster Srednogorie and was a platform for discussing national policies and market regulation in the energy sector, involving the positions of generators, traders and industrial consumers.
The official opening of the forum was given by key figures Mr. Lachezar Borisov, deputy minister of economics, assoc. prof. Ivan Ivanov, chairman of EWRC, Mr. Ivaylo Aleksiev, executive director SEDA, Mr. Tsvetan Simeonov, chairman of BCCI, Mr. Kiril Zhelyazkov, executive director of BIA, prof. Liuben Totev, chairman of the council of university rectors in Bulgaria, Mr. Nikolay Minkov, executive director of Industrial cluster Srednogorie.
The Conference “Industry and Energy” 2018 showed solutions to build successful interactions between institutions and businesses in order to foster investments in energy efficient technologies and to overcome existing imbalances in the energy system. The participants in the conference discussed the topics concerning the current state of the electricity market and the positions of various stakeholders. ATEB had the opportunity to make a presentation entitled “Role of the electricity traders in the electricity market”. It illustrated the functions and responsibilities of the traders and the recent developments in the electricity market in Bulgaria and the region.
Then, the focus was on the energy challenges which face industry 4.0, a panel moderated by Mrs. Desislava Chalamova, director business development Industrial cluster Security. Important topics such as cyber security, education and innovation processes, industrial competitiveness were in the center of the presentations and the discussion.
The event was attended by government representatives, experts from the sector organizations, electricity traders, generators, industrial consumers, energy experts, managers and specialists from the network companies.
