The first event for 2019 part of Energy Managers’ Forum is titled “Liquidity and price levels of the mandatory participation on the power exchange”. It will take place on 23rd of January from 13:00 at Hotel Balkan, Sofia.
The main aim of the discussions in Energy Managers’ Forum is to mobilize the energy experts for solving the current issues in the Bulgarian energy sector. Therefore, in the upcoming discussion will be analysed market liquidity, price levels and factors which determine them, as well as potential solutions for improving the market conditions. The chairman of ATEB – Martin Georgiev will take part in the forum and will present a short overview of the development of the electricity prices on the power exchange in Bulgaria.
The event addresses the effects on the market liberalization coming from the legislative changes adopted in the beginning of 2018. These changes imposed mandatory participation of all generators with installed capacity equal or above 4 MW on IBEX (Independent Bulgarian energy exchanges) and an obligation on the network operators to purchase electricity for technological losses only via IBEX.
Key participants in the discussion will be representatives from the Bulgarian government, regulatory authorities, as well as Bulgarian and foreign energy companies, representatives from business associations and media.
