The information portal 3e-news reports that the members of the Energy Committee in the National Assembly with 9 votes in favor and 2 abstentions adopted at first reading a bill amending the Renewable energy act. Meanwhile, the chairman of the Energy Committee, Radosav Ribarski, that a working group would be formed to refine the texts on this bill.
The amendments envisage the introduction of a notification regime for the construction of renewable energy sources (RES) for own use with a capacity of up to 5 MW. MPs from all parties reserved the right to make proposals and amendments between the first and second readings, although they assessed the bill as a step in the right direction.
CEZ explained the obstacles that would be created by a possible notification regime mainly lack of technical and structural requirements for the RES facilities. In particular, the need for clarification in the bill, that the produced electricity should not be returned to the grid. Even when RES work “off grid”, they still operate in parallel with the network and might endanger network technicians, said CEZ representative and pointed out the need for technical and design requirements.
