In an interview for 3e-news media, the Chairman of the Energy Committee, Valentin Nikolov, announced that a roadmap for liberalization of the electricity market will be part of the Energy Act. “We also need to introduce a capacity mechanism. It is necessary to prepare a liberalization program so that it can be completed in the foreseeable future, within the next five years, because the capacity mechanism also has a five-year period up to 2025. A plan is currently being drafted. “
According to the chairman of the parliamentary committee, one of the options is to gradually reduce the regulated market as a percentage of energy, not as a percentage of entities. So the energy can be allocated to electricity distribution companies. They will be required to purchase part of this electricity from the liberalized market.
Changes in the gas market are also expected. They will be related to stricter rules for gas licensees, on one hand, and changes to the Spatial Development Act on the other. The aim is to stimulate household gasification.
