The Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Energy Act, adopted by the 49th National Assembly on April 25, 2024, has been published in the State Gazette №39/May 1st, 2024- The Law provides for the postponement of the final stage of the liberalization of the electricity market with one year.
With the adopted amendments to the Energy Act, the EWRC continues to set quotas for state-owned power plants for electricity produced for the regulated market, while the National Electricity Company retains its status as a public supplier for households until 1 July 2025 at prices set by the regulator.
