The sixth reactor of NPP Kozloduy was stopped on 1st of October at 2:21 for scheduled yearly maintenance. During the non-operational period renovation and maintenance of the systems will be performed as well as recharging with nuclear fuel. Several activities were planned for increasing the lifespan of the 1000 MW reactor such as: investigation of the components, equipment and pipelines in the reactor section, machine room and in the diesel generators; evaluation of the structures and others. Regarding the other ongoing project related to the increase of the thermal capacity of 6th reactor up to 104% it is planned to complete the modernization of the separation systems in the steam-generators.
The yearly maintenance is expected to be completed during the first half of November 2016.
