The new electricity prices will be valid from 1st of August 2015 till 30th of June 2016
Energy and water regulatory commission (EWRC) determined an even price for “obligations to society” for consumers on the regulated and on the free market. According to the new price decision of the Regulator the fee “obligations to society” is the same for all households and industrial consumers and is 37.90 BGN/MWh. The chairman of EWRC stated that “this uniform fee is necessary, because the Energy Law, adopted by the National Assembly requires defining the fees on transparent and fair manner for all end consumers. Moreover, in EWRC view the accumulated deficit in NEK should be covered by all participants in the energy sector.
The chairmen of the regulatory commission noted that the fee “obligation to society” will be reduced for consumers on the open market when the “Ordinance for reducing the price of renewable energy for industrial consumers” comes into force. No matter when the ordinance will be notified by the European commission, it will enter into force from 1st of August 2015, said Ivan Ivanov
The companies with an annual consumption over 30 GWh will pay 18.77 BGN/MWh fee “obligations to society”. There will be an intermediate price for consumers using between 10 and 30 GWh/year – 26.65 BGN/MWh
For clients with consumption of 10 GWh/year, who constitute different groups such as business and households the fee will be 37,90 BGN/MWh. This price is already included in the electricity bill of the households. For them the end price of electricity has decreased overall with an average of 0,11% for the new regulatory period.
In the new price decision the total amount of the fees transmission and access to the electricity network has increased with 0.58 BGN/MWh. The new price for access is 1.17 BGN/MWh and for transmission is 7.36 BGN/MWh or a total of 8.56 BGN/MWh compared to 7.98 BGN in the previous period. These fees are applicable on the energy for open market and for export.
