The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission held a closed meeting, at which it adopted decisions on the applications submitted by Bulgargaz EAD for approval of natural gas prices for the periods 1 January – 31 January 2020, 1 February – 29 February 2020 and 1 March – March 31, 2020 under which the public supplier to sell natural gas to the end suppliers of natural gas and to the Cogeneration plants. After reducing the prices of natural gas for the last three months of 2019, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) approached in a similar way the prices for the first three months of 2020. Compared to the prices approved by the regulator for previous periods the price for January 2020 decreases by 14.12%, for February 2020 – by 23.23%, and for March 2020 – by 31.65%
The change in prices for previous periods is made in accordance with the changed terms of the contract concluded between Bulgargaz and Gazprom for the transmission of natural gas on March 2, 2020, because of which the Bulgarian public supplier can reimburse its end customers with the price difference as of August 5, 2019
EWRC set new prices for the first three months of the year – for January the price of natural gas is 37.82 BGN per MWh; for February it is 33.81 BGN per MWh, while the one for March has been reduced to 30.10 BGN per MWh.
