EWRC organized a discussion regarding the prices for balancing energy

On 13.12.2016 Energy and water regulatory commission (EWRC) organized a public hearing of a report and draft decision regarding the limiting prices of energy on the balancing market. The proposition of EWRC’s working group is to maintain unchanged the maximum prices for supplying additional energy – 202.00 BGN/MWh. According to the experts from the Commission the minimum price for excess electricity should also remain the same – 0.00 BGN/MWh. The working group pointed out that at the moment there aren’t any objective reasons on the market for changing the limiting prices of balancing energy.

In the public hearing representatives from TPP Maritsa 2, NEK and TSO expressed their position. According to TPP Maritsa 2 the maximum price for supplying balancing energy should be higher. NEK proposed the minimum prices for excess of energy to be negative. The final decision of the Regulator will be made on 30.12.2016.

The report and the draft decision of the prices for electrical energy on the balancing market is available (only in BG) on EWRC webpage.
