On 15.07.2016 Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) initiated a procedure of selecting members of the Customer Advisory Board (The Board). In accordance with decision of the Board of Directors of IBEX EAD as of 13 June 2016, a Customer Advisory Board shall be established to the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange. The Board function is to provide assistance and support to the power exchange operator in settling issues related to the development and operation of the day-ahead market on a voluntary basis.
The Board consists of nine members in total, two of whom, including the Chairman of the Board, shall be part of the management structure of IBEX EAD. The number of participants per category of the Board is as follows:
– IBEX representatives – 2 (incl. Chairman)
– Power producers – 3;
– Trading companies – 3;
– Consumers – 1;
The Board resolutions have the effect of recommendations to IBEX EAD, which the power exchange operator is expected to carefully examine and consider in the decision-making process and in performing its activities. The Board shall assist in the processes of establishing the policy and strategic objectives in regard to the development of the power exchange by making specific suggestions in the form of written proposals.
