On 5th of September the 6th reactor of NPP Kozloduy was stopped for scheduled annual renovation.
During the shutdown period all the necessary repairs and maintenance of the equipment and the systems of the reactor will be performed as well as a recharge with fresh nuclear fuel. The schedule of the renovation activities includes also replacement of the generator’s stator. This measure is necessary to increase the heat capacity of the reactor to 104% and to extend its lifetime.
It is expected the annual renovation of the 6th nuclear reactor to be completed at the end of October.
In the meantime fifth nuclear reactor of NPP Kozloduy continues its normal operation.
